For cabin mount systems, a new attenuation design consists of an air spring combined with an integrated Smart PID System and control electronics (see image of the spring-damper elements with an integrated position measuring system). The unit is equipped with a level-regulating system to adjust to different load states and comfort regulation. RheDamp®, which is integrated within the design envelope, is positioned centrally in this application. Coaxial to the RheDamp, one can see the associated air spring.
With regard to the control strategy, FLUDICON can call upon its years of experience in the automobile industry. Similar comfort control systems such as Skyhook and Groundhook control have been proven in many studies.
