Digital Hydraulic Technology

New design hydraulic valves can be opened and closed faster and more precise with ER-technology. Every intermediate position can be programmably tuned.

This allows the realisation of adaptive dampers and actuators ? elements which can adjust themselves continuously to changing system requirements, using as little energy as possible.

The enthusiasm of potential users for this new technology can stimulate ideas for future applications - the realization of which requires professional assistance.

Utilize Fludicon's worldwide unique know-how in ER-engineering to realise your visions.

Electrorheology: "Intelligent" fluids

Electrorheology is a technology whereby "intelligent" fluids vary their viscous properties within an electrical field. The system consists of mechanical components, electronics and the electrorheological fluid (ERF).

Eletrorheological fluids are smart materials, whose consistency can be rapidly and reversibly altered over a broad range within an electric field.

ERFs are robust, ecologically compatible, non-abrasive, temperature resistant and industrially producible. They are the basis of a wide range of technological applications, for example controllable dampers, tuned mass dampers, dynamic actuators, valves, clutches and brakes.

ER-applications offer perspectives for new products with a high technical and economical relevance.

ER is a key technology on the road to industrial miniaturization. Large amounts of energy are transformed in a confined space. Many moving parts can be omitted, the ions move in the electrical field, receiving commands from high performance processors. Fewer components mean reduced investment costs, less wear reduces maintenance expenses.
